Lokesh Chandra Dube

Lokesh Chandra Dube is Visiting Research Fellow (Climate Change Policy, Research Carbon Management, GHG Inventorization, Carbon Forestry & REDD+ and Carbon Finance) at IISD-CMI. Lokesh is involved in IISD-CMI, particularly various knowledge initiatives, with Carbon Management School (CMS) and Business Sustainability School (BSS) as a Key Resource Person in various popular Knowledge Dissemination Platforms, such as AECTP and running various Online and Correspondence Courses on a regular basis.

Lokesh is an expert on Climate Change Science and Policy, who is working on the preparation of India’s Third National Communication and Biennial Update Report at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). He was instrumental in preparing India’s first and second Biennial Update Reports and was part of India’s National Delegation to UNFCCC at COP 25 in Madrid, Spain. Lokesh started his career with Emergent Ventures India (EVI) as a Consultant, where he developed a Framework for Programmatic CDM in Renewable Energy for Ministry Of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government Of India and estimated Bamboo based Mitigation Potential for National Bamboo Mission. He has also authored a new CDM Methodology. He has worked as Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Auditor with TÜV NORD Group, where he Validated and Verified over 60 Mitigation CDM Projects of UNFCCC. Lokesh is also a Fellow of International Society for Tropical Ecology and a recipient of Aquaguard Young Scientist Award-2005 from Eureka Forbes. He has been recently nominated by the Government of India to the Roster of Experts of UNFCCC. With extensive training on GHG Inventories, he is a qualified Reviewer for the National Communication and Biennial Reports submitted to UNFCCC. He was also an Expert Reviewer for IPCC Special Reports on Global Warming of 1.5oC and on Climate Change and Land. With a Master Degree in Environment Management from Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun and an M. Phil. in Energy and Environment from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, India. Lokesh has also qualified UGC-NET for Lectureship in Environmental Science. Moreover, he is pursuing his Doctoral research work, in addition to his manyfold additional professional involvements, in his daily day-to-day life.
