Dr Jikku Jose is the Sr. Research Follow (Biotechnology & Waste Management) at IISD, who is a PhD holder in Biotechnology from Cochin University of Science & Technology where she worked to develop an in vitro production protocol for the rapid multiplication of plantlets of Jatropha curcas- a biodiesel plant and its variation studies at the molecular level. Her research area of interest is on the sustainable technologies development in bioenergy, and waste management sectors. Through her leadership, a Kochi Based Organization Scire Science has been recognised in national level with an outstanding achievement award for business excellence. Moreover, She has interest in teaching, training and capacity program in environmental studies and her area of research with us, and also with few educational institutions including St Joseph’s College of Communications. She has published and presented her research work in many International and National Journals and Conferences. Moreover, she is the author of a few academic book chapters and compiler of books of abstracts for conferences. She is a life member of - Society for Educational & Scientific Research, Society for Biotechnologists (INDIA), and Society for Applied Biotechnology. She had been the Chairperson of scientific sessions and invited as a speaker for various academic non-academic programmes. On recognising her valuable contributions in Science and Education, continuously for last 12 years, She has received many outstanding awards as a leading Science Talent of the Nation, Special Award / Honour on Women’s Day 2017, in addition to receiving prestigious Social Entrepreneur Award, from Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala. She presented her technical paper in National Science Congress 2019, who is working with IISD on 3^rd Generation Bio-fuel Research, in which Bio Diesel is extracted from Algae & Fungi sources, reducing CO₂ emission etc. and their pilot projects execution, Plant Tissue Culture Bio-technology and Solid & Liquid Waste Management, in addition to spearheading various Science Popularization and Capacity Building, programs .
